AI, Cybertrucks, and the Human Condition

“Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together.”

We've all seen them...

The crisp but busy AI generated flyers floating around everywhere. They now remind me of Cybertrucks...once a rare sight, just seen here and there, kind of cool but also really ugly, but now they are EVERYWHERE. Have you noticed that too??

To be fair, I want to like the AI flyers (just like I want to like the Cybertrucks), but I just can't. They literally make my stomach churn.

Why you ask?

Really, it's because it feels like cheating. You are taking something not good for the environment, something honestly really creepy, stealing ideas from others, and then using the computer to create something for you, instead of creating it yourself. To me, this is the beginning of the end of creativity.

It's causing others to have unrealistic expectations and a skewed perception of reality. All the flyers are starting to look alike now - we have lost individuality within flyers,

And honestly, I would much rather see a super simple plain flyer in Comic Sans than one of the (in my opinion, creepy) AI generated flyers. They are busy, loud, not unique, and use a technology I don't think should exist. AI is NOT good for our environment, our society, or our brains. And I will die on that hill.

Below are some of my best business flyers - never AI. All done in Canva, sometimes using templates, but never using anything but my creativity.

School & Co-op Photography pricing flyer offering team and individual photo packages starting at $400 and $25 per child.
Senior photography sessions promotional flyer featuring grad portraits, QR code booking, 60-minute session with 10 image downloads.
Back to School minis photography event flyer at Tailored Homeschool, Stanwood WA, $35, August 8th and September 20th, walk-ins welcome.
Coffee and headshots networking event flyer for local business owners at Snohomish Coffee Co. on March 10, 8-10am.

As we head into the future...

I am hoping that others see what I see and I pray we can all encourage each other to just say no to AI. Convenience isn't worth the price...it doesn't take that much extra time to slap together a simple flyer on (free) Canva.

Pay the designer or virtual assistant. Pay the HUMAN. Let's encourage our fellow humans to use their God given brain, talents, and creativity and help support local artists.

Support real.

Support creativity.

Support humans.

"What about your photography business?"

You will always know what to expect with Christina Miller Photography.

Never AI.

Always pure creativity and talent.

Never perfection.

And I love that things are never perfect. You may see typos - I have dyslexia. You may see wrong dates - I am human! You may see things that don't quite work together, and guess what? That's okay! Because it what makes my business mine, and human, and it is what creates the human connection with my clients.

So as we continue on in 2026, I urge each and every one of you to think about how you use AI and in the content you take in every day. Is AI really making our world better? Should we keep supporting it? Or should we be discouraging its use and really supporting our God given creativeness?

Below is a very awesome video I hope you can watch.

Let's bring humanity back to how we live and communicate with others. Let's build relationships, learn from each other rather than the internet, truly CONNECT with each other. In internet is great, technology is great, but it cannot replace human interaction, communication, and creativity. The human mind is beautiful - let's respect that and celebrate it!

“Do not let the algorithm write your story! Be the authors yourselves; use technology wisely, but do not let technology use you.”
