Branding: the promotion of a particular product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design.
If you’re like me, you cringe at the words promotion and marketing. No one likes a pushy sale. But branding is so much more than that! Branding is the look, the feel, the EXPERIENCE of a company and it’s products and/or services. It’s the smile box with silly phrases from Amazon, it’s the little polaroid camera of Instagram. It’s the customer service, the experience you go through when buying the product, the shopping experience online, the social media posts and business cards. Branding encompasses it all.
So why would you need helping with branding? Why can’t you just do it yourself? Why is it so important? Let’s get into why branding, and more specifically branding photography, is key to a successful business. Photographs encourage confidence and trust in your brand, tying together your text, colors, and images. Branding photographs show WHO you are and not just what you are selling. Photographs are more relatable and human.
Branding photographs show your brand visually:

- your team
- your process
- your products
Your authentic identity and your unique story are very important and photographs help show the world. Photography encourages community interaction, as they can evoke memories, creating a personal connection between your client/customer and you/your business. In turn, that also inspiring us to think about the world and our place in it.
Some scientists believe the human brain is able to process the information in images 60,000 times more quickly than that information in written form. Other scientists say our brains remember images better than words - our brains dually encode images but only encode written words once.
